Google Workspace email is powered by Gmail. There are several ways to access it on your desktop. ## Option 1: Gmail in the Browser (Recommended) This is the simplest and most feature-complete option. 1. Go to [mail.google.com](https://mail.google.com). 2. Sign in with your Google Workspace email (like yourname@yourcompany.com). 3. Complete MFA if prompted. 4. Bookmark the page for easy access. Gmail in the browser gives you the full experience: email, chat, spaces, calendar integration, and search. ### Make It Feel Like an App **Chrome:** Click the three dots menu > Save and share > Create shortcut. Check "Open as window." This creates a desktop shortcut that opens Gmail without the browser toolbar. **Edge:** Click the three dots > Apps > Install this site as an app. ## Option 2: Apple Mail on Mac 1. Open **System Settings > Internet Accounts** (or Mail > Add Account). 2. Select **Google**. 3. Sign in with your Google Workspace email. 4. Choose what to sync: Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Notes. 5. Click **Done**. Your email will appear in the built-in Mail app. ## Option 3: Outlook on Windows or Mac If your organization prefers Outlook: 1. Open Outlook. 2. Go to **File > Add Account** (Windows) or **Outlook > Settings > Accounts > Add Account** (Mac). 3. Enter your Google Workspace email address. 4. Outlook will redirect you to the Google sign-in page. 5. Sign in and grant permissions. 6. Your email will sync to Outlook. Note: Some Google Workspace features (like Labels, Snooze, and Google Chat) do not translate perfectly to Outlook. The browser experience is the most complete. ## Google Workspace vs. Gmail Google Workspace email looks like Gmail but is managed by your organization. Your admin controls security settings, storage, sharing policies, and user access. Your email address uses your organization's domain (yourname@yourcompany.com) instead of @gmail.com. ## Troubleshooting **Cannot sign in:** Make sure you are using your full work email address, not a personal Gmail address. If MFA is required, complete the verification step. **Mail not syncing in Outlook or Apple Mail:** Remove the account and add it again. Make sure IMAP is enabled in your Google Workspace admin settings (your IT provider can check this). **"Less secure app" warning:** Google has disabled less secure app access. Use OAuth (the standard sign-in flow) instead of entering a password directly in third-party apps.
